When networking is enabled, one of two icons will appear in the status bar:
This indicates that Ascendis Caller ID is connected to another computer.
This indicates that Ascendis Caller ID is not currently connected to another computer. Possible reasons include:
| • | The machines are using the polling protocol and the client is not polling at this particular time. |
| • | The client or the server is disabled. |
| • | The client or the server is no longer running Ascendis Caller ID. |
| • | The Ascendis Caller ID server address is incorrect. |
| • | Both computers are running as servers, or clients, or neither. |
| • | The port numbers do not match on the client and the server. |
| • | Network congestion or errors have prevented or broken the connection. The client will attempt to connect again automatically. |
| • | The client and server are not physically connected on the same network. |
The Network Status Window can be helpful for diagnosing network problems.
